Have you found the perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe?

To be honest, I haven't. But what I've found is one of the best chocolate chip cookie recipes ever, that's for sure.I've been experimenting with few chocolate chip cookie recipes and I find that this recipe is the real deal.I'll definitely stick to this recipe till I find the secret recipe to create famous amos cookies...hee.You know where I got this recipe from kan...None other than allrecipes.com!!!

Need idea on what to bake for raya this year? Gotta keep reading!!!

Ingredients needed to bake the awesome cookies:

1 cup butter (250g)

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

 1 teaspoon baking soda

2 teaspoons hot water ( doesn't have to be boiled water)

 1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips..In my case, I used 2 cups of chopped full milk choc bar(400 gram)

1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps needed to be taken :

  • Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs one by one, then stir in the vanilla.
  • Dissolve baking soda in hot water.
  • Add the baking soda mixture to the batter together with salt.
  • Stir in flour, chocolate chips or chopped choc, and walnuts.

  •  Depending on the size of cookies you want, drop a large/small spoonfuls onto baking tray covered with baking paper. The recipe is for 24 large cookies, like those cookies you find from Subway. But I did small spoonfuls so i got more that 5 dozens of cookies.Saiz sesuai untuk kuih raya ye.

  •  Bake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees C for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are nicely browned.

  •  Make sure you estimate the gap between cookies because they will expand during baking.
  • Let them cool down for a while after taking out of the oven.
  • They'll be crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside...sedappppp

Pack them into Tupperwares to be kept for raya ye..nanti x sempat raya dah habis...humma2

Oh man..looking at them again makes me craving for more. They are to die for...Yang I buat hari tu dah habis...howoe..Akan gigih buat lagi..and I'm so gonna make these cookies for Raya this year...Dah ada dua macam kuih raya tahun ni..nak try buat recipe kuih raya lain la plak..hee..

Perfect Spring Picnic...

Here comes the season everybody's been waiting for...Spring!!! Okay, I'm not sure bout you guys but I did. It's the time of the year where the weather is just nice, temperate and soothing.Birds chirping, rabbits running around the garden, flowers freshly blooming, fruits and vegetables growing, and wind blowing, carresing your face. Oh what a wonderful season to enjoy your holiday.

Popular picnic spot in Köln , near Severinsbrücke.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your blankets, pluck some fruits from the garden or the supermarket, make sandwiches, buy some tit bits, pack up your stuff and off you go enjoying the lovely, sunny day of the spring. I know we did!

My friends and I went to Köln (Cologne) to have our own picnic fiesta. What is more romantic than having a picnic on a hill with amazing views overlooking the rhine river? Nada. Howoe..terover exxagerating skit. Apa-apa pun we had so much fun during the picnic.

 Darwin and I

Rumitha and Fizz

We chose our picnic spot next to a big tree...so that xde la panas membahang sangat kan..kulit dah semulajadi tan xyah gedik2 nak tan lagi ye..

Sebelum melahap makanan kita ambik gambar dulu ye....

It wouldn't be a picnic without tasty, mouth-watering food...Macam-macam ada.Homemade food would be egg curry sandwich, nutella sandwich, egg cheese sandwich, roasted chicken, chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake.

Other than the homemade food, there were chips, carbonated drinks and fresh fruits like rasberry, grapes and banana..memang nikmat terasa arh...

Makan time!!!

¡Hola amigos!

Alololo..cute la tu...

Sambil2 picnic kita enjoy the magnificent view ye...best je tengok ramai orang main layang-layang and bola. ..buat barbecue...sun-bathing...simply enjoying the warm weather..

We had a great time..eating..chatting...making fun of each other..singing...playing charades just to name a few...Can't wait to do this again next time!!!

Muffin with a surprise center!!!

Who says only hard candy has a surprise center? Guess what? Muffin does too..
And it tastes so mmmhhhhmmm good...

I've tried a variety of muffin recipes, but this one is really mind-boggling.It's totally different from the other muffin recipes I've tried. The surprise center makes all the difference. It gives you an awesome taste resulting from the contrast between cream cheese and chocolate chips...Simply delicious...

I think I should just give you all the recipe rather than just babbling about how good the muffin is..hee.So as usual, the recipe came from allrecipe.com, my most favourite website to find great recipes.Various spectacular recipes to be tried. You name it, you got it!

So back to the recipe...Are you guys ready?

This recipe will get you about 24 - 28 muffins...Enough for breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner and supper right? Humma2. Read the captions under the photos yeah..the amount needed is not as shown in the picture!

The ingredients needed for the muffins :

3 cups of flour

2 cups of sugar...I would suggest 2 1/4 cups of sugar. The muffins are not that sweet...So if you have a sweet tooth, add a lil bit of sugar...

1/2 cup of  cocoa powder

1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of baking soda

2/3 cup of vegetable oil

2 cups of water

2 tablespoons of vinegar..Weird huh? but i think the reaction between the vinegar and the mixture creates better texture of muffins...Bear the smell of the vinegar yeah...

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract (vanilla essence). I got to know earlier that the vanilla essence sold here contains a small percentage of alcohol..but guess what? I found these extracts without alcohol...wohooo..teruja..ni buat i gigih nak bake ni..haish..

Ingredients for the surprise center :

One package of 225g (8 ounce) cream cheese

 1 egg

 1/2 cup sugar

 1/4 teaspoon salt

The actual recipe uses 1 cup of chocolate chips but because the price of choc chips here is too expensive, I used 200 g of chopped choc bar instead. Either choc chips or chopped choc bar..

Steps in the making of a masterpiece...

Muffin Mix

  • Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking soda in a large bowl.Using a whisk would be better.

  •  Stir in oil, water, vinegar and vanilla extract until well-mixed.
  • Now the muffin mix is ready.

 Surprise Center

  • Beat together cream cheese, egg, sugar and salt until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in chopped choc or choc chips.

  • Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celcius.
  • Now, line the muffin tray with muffin wrappers.
  • Pour muffin mixture into the prepared muffin tray, filling only 1/3 full.
  • Drop a full teaspoon of the surprise center mixture on top of the 1/3 filled muffin cup.I ter-drop one tablespoon terus.Haha..sebab the filling is so nice..that's why..
  • Fill the rest of the cup with the muffin mixture to 2/3 full.
  • So now you have the surprise center in the middle...weeee
Okay as you can see, my surprise center seems visible even after filling 2/3 full.Tu la gedik letak one tablespoon kan..x kisah yang penting sedap menjilat jari..hee..

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes. Check if the muffins are ready or not by poking into the middle of the muffin with a stick.

Bila freshly out of the oven, kena buat muka camni dulu...howoe..ye saya dah chubby..baik cakap awal2 sebelum orang comment kan..hee

Presenting the surprise-centered muffins...It is better to allow the muffins to cool first before eating.Eating it hot will not be as nice as eating it cold..If you want the filling texture to be correct, you should put them in the fridge for few hours..tapi i pelahap je lepas dah sejuk skit..hoho..

Till the next post..Tschüss und mach's gut!!!
