Chiemsee is the largest lake in Bavaria and contains three islands, Herreninsel, Fraueninsel, and Krautinsel. Ammar and I managed to cover the two main islands, Herreninsel (gentleman's island) and Fraueninsel (lady's island). The islands were monasteries. So nuns and priests were separated in two main islands, one for gentlemen and the other for the ladies.
The journey started at Prien a. Chiemsee train station. Let's see the pictures that we took and the chronological story they tell. Pictures credit to Ammar and my samsung ex1. :)
Enjoy!!!
Enjoy!!!
Chiemseebahn
The journey with this steam locomotive takes about 8 minutes on a distance of 1,9km to Prien Hafen.
Prien Hafen
From this port, it'll take about 15 minutes before you reach Herreninsel. The journey is very breezy and the view is just stunning.
Herreninsel
This is the biggest island out of the three islands of Chiemsee. Here you can visit the famous palace of Herrenchiemsee built by Ludwig II of Bavaria.
You can either choose the horse carriage to the castle which will cost you 3 euros per trip
Or you can walk for about 15 to 20 minutes.
We chose to walk and enjoy the mother nature..oh so lovely...
Herrenchiemsee Garden
Herrenchiemsee New Palace
This is a must tour when you come to Chiemsee. The interior of this castle is really fantastic and will blow your mind away. Sadly pictures are not allowed to be taken in the castle. So kita tengok the exterior jela yeee..

Fraueninsel
Second largest island on Chiemsee. The Island is populated with about 300 permanent residents and is car-free. The island has beautiful settings that will make you tempted to do a photoshoot. Haha yeah that's what we did.. Photoshooting all over the island.. :P
