Entrance ticket to the Atomium for an adult is €11. With a student ID you'll only need to pay €8.
The Atomium offers a 360° panoramic view of the 19 municipalities of Brussels from The Panorama at level 7. If the weather is superb, you'll be able to get a clear view until Antwerp.
There's a permanent exhibition named "Atomium. From symbol to icon" which spread over 2 floors (levels 1 & 2) and the panorama (level 7). It tells the history of this pavillion and how it became the symbol of the city of Brussels and of Belgium.
Most of the spheres are connected by stairs. Only the Panorama at level 7 is connected via lift with a speed of 5 metres per second making it the fastest lift in Europe in 1958.
Temporary exhibition on level 3. When I was there, the temporary exhibition was called "Wow is Now : Innovative Objects of Today & Tomorrow. The temporary exhibition changes every 4 months.
