Brighton and Hove

Brighton, located about an hour from London on the south coast of Great Britain is England's most populous seaside resort. Famous for its beautiful peeble beach and the seaside fun experience at Brighton Pier, Brighton has a lot to offer ranging from the amazing architecture of the Royal Pavillion to the vibrant and fun art of graffiti and mural.

I was in Brighton few months ago visiting a good friend of mine, Azri. He became my unofficial tour guide showing me around the beautiful city of Brighton. Brighton is not really that huge so one can actually covers the main sightseeing places in one or two days depending on what you are planning to do there. There are a lot of connections to Brighton from London, mainly by bus or train. I took a train to Brighton paying only 5£ for a one-way journey. That's because I bought the ticket few weeks in advance. If you're buying on the spot you might have to pay around 20 £. Anyways if you have time to spare, just hop on the train or the bus and take a short trip to Brighton. It's really worth it!

To start off, let me introduce a famous Fish & Chips restaurant in Brighton called Bardsley's. Njam njam!

The Royal Pavillion
The spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent (George IV) transformed by John Nash between 1815 and 1822 into one of the most dazzling and exotic buildings in the British Isles. It is highly influenced by both Chinese and Indian style (with Mughal and Islamic architectural elements)

Brighton's West Pier
The Pavillion caught fire in March 2003, was unable to be saved due to the collapsed walkway which prevented the fire crews from reaching it.
