Ada apa dengan Aachen?

I've always thought that Aachen a.k.a Aix-la-Chapelle being a small city would not have many great places to be explored.Oh boy how i was wrong.Aachen is located at a very strategic place. It forms a triangle between Germany, Belgium and France. So mainly the culture, architecture of the buildings and the food here symbolize the three countries.

I went to Aachen last Saturday for a housewarming party.I had an impromptu sleepover and thought that since I was there, i should explore the city.Unfortunately it was a Sunday.Remember I told you guys that on Sunday all the shops are close except for restaurants and tourist attractions.Oh not forgetting the shops at the central stations and airports.Hurm..So yeah sadly i didn't get to explore the great places to shop in Aachen but fortunately I get to gaze on the wonderful awe-inspiring buildings there.

Where to? Where to? *garu kepala*

I know...I know..i just love this t-shirt... :p

Say hi to Rumitha..

and Darwin..

I'm not really sure what this is.
It's located in the middle of the city...
I think it might be a place to hang out, read a book, enjoy the sun etc.

A nice place to pose as well.

Heading to the bank...

Look at the decorations on the walls of the bank...whoaaa

Elisenbrunnen is a popular place to hang out..you'll see why..

There's a beautiful park for you to hang out with your friends, enjoying the great weather and simply relaxing..

It was a great weather with a great view

Elisenbrunnen

The Elisa Fountain (Elisenbrunnen) is the symbol of the spa town of Aachen.

The Marble plaque shows the names of the famous visitors that came here over the centuries.Famous people such as Casanova..

Rumitha bajet chomeyl la tu buat muka camtu..

Der Kreislauf des Geldes (Circulation of money)

This is a great piece of art also known as Money Fountain. The water circulates to the center of the pond. The sculptures around it are group into three and have their own meanings. All the sculptures have something to do with money.
1. Figure symbolizing "Bettelei" - Begging
2. Three figures symbolizing "Geiz" - (Avarice), "Gier" (Greed), "Gönnerhaftigkeit" (Condescension)
3. Figure of a father explaining to his daughter on how to deal with money.

Look in between the sculptures..hee...

Now we're heading to the most famous tourist attraction in Aachen...

Aachener Dom ( Aachen Cathedral)

Aachener Dom ( Aachen Cathedral) which made an entry into the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1978.

We bumped into each other in Aachen. From left : Rumitha, Darwin, Hai and Tony.

and that's me with them..

The entrance to the cathedral.

To take pictures inside the cathedral, i need to pay 1 euro..It was worth every cent.

Raj, our senior who is studying in Aachen took us around the cathedral.

Hehe..the photo teaser...

Puppenbrunnen

This is one of the 32 fountains you can find in Aachen. It's called Puppenbrunnen.
Aachen Historisches Rathaus (Aachen Town Hall)

Karlsbrunnen (Karl's fountain)

It is the oldest fountain in Aachen...

Instead of going into the town hall, we just lepak in front of the Rathaus to indulge ice-creams.

Sambil makan sambil dengar lagu...oh nikmat...

I had a great time in Aachen..I'll definitely go there again anytime soon...This time I'll go on the days where the shops are open..:p

Till the next post....
Tschüss und mach's gut!!!
